REALLY REALLY CLOSE TO BEING DONE!!!!!

Hi Everyone!
The new building is almost ready. Lois and I spent the weekend applying American Clay to some of the walls. So far so good. We need to prime other walls, clean some floors, pass some inspections and then its move in time! whoo hoo!
Weds and Thursday have been big days... The electric is done, we got a potty (you can tell I have a little kid), plumbing, painting is finished, the outside has been painted, parking leveled, and our first inspection has been completed. We have a thumbs up from David to start moving in on Saturday. Yay! My time off seemed both long and short at the same time.
Although my "break" was busy, it was super rewarding to finally spend some quality time with my family. A few weekend camping trips, hiking, gardening, and just plain time together. Things that are definitely lacking when I work weekends and Cory works weekdays. However, we had planned on 2 months of building and moving time, and ended up with almost 6 months. It will be good to get back to work and clay.
Well, thats it for now, remember our GRAND OPENING ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND! Hope to see you all then,

laurie

My OFFICIAL first blog!

Yes, this is my first OFFICIAL blog!!!

Margaret has created an amazing new website for Aspects of Clay, and is patiently trying to teach me about blogging, website mechanics, computer lingo and oh so much more. We have made countless calls and emails to each other over the past weeks trying to get the website working with my very ANCIENT computer. We are finally there! THANKS MARGARET!!!

We are crazy busy getting ready for the opening of the new studio! We are planning a "soft" opening sometime in August, and a GRAND OPENING on Labor Day weekend (September 4,5,6.) I will send more details soon. In the meantime, Lois and I (with some help from friends) will be applying American Clay to some of the walls this weekend and over the next 2 weeks. Once we get a potty and a sink hooked up and pass all of our inspections, we can move in. David and Sharon and crew have worked ridiculously hard to get this done, with some small (groan) delays from the county early on. But the building looks great! I have added some pics... see you all soon, and WELCOME to our blog.

See you soon!
